Not long after my last post I fell and fractured my left thumb. Although the orthopedic hand surgeon idn't think I needed surgery, she followed me closely and provided other therapies. It was over a year before I was confident enough about my left hand grip to use blacksmith tongs. When you are moving a piece of metal glowing yellow at 1500 degrees, you have to be confident you can hold onto it.
As I was getting back to forging hooks and handles and towel bars, Lucas Daniels started up the Vershire Artisans and Farmers Market. The Market is every Sunday afternoon from 12:30 to 3:30. The last market of this season is Sept 15. We go every week and enjoy talking with everyone. I say "we" because I'm selling my forged items as well as the chain mail jewelry while Karen has cupcake size cheesecakes for sale.
I am wearing my kilt to the Market because of the Scottish history of Black OWLL Studio. Can't miss me - come visit.
